Is a PDA Just an Expensive Toy?
Pamela Boyer Sayre, CG, CGL
Would it be helpful to always have within reach your entire telephone directory, all e-mails you have sent
or received in a given time period, your entire genealogical database, the article or book you are currently
writing, a detailed to-do list, a spreadsheet of all the genealogical books and CDs you own, and any word
processing, spreadsheet, or specialized database file you might need? What if all this information was contained
in a small, lightweight device no larger than the notepad you probably already carry in your pocket or purse?
If so, you're a candidate for buying and using a PDA.
This lecture presents some of the many uses of a PDA for genealogical and organizational purposes and shows how
an investment in learning to use this tool can benefit a genealogist many times over.
